4 Signs Your Diet is Unhealthy

Once we encounter a chronic illness, it’s obviously our body’s way of telling that we aren’t as healthy as we thought we were. However, did you know that our bodies give us plenty of early signs, warning us about our body’s possible malfunctioning? We often tend to neglect those signs, thinking it may be something trivial or related to the climate change that will cure itself, over the course of time.

Mostly, if we aren’t healthy our diet and lifestyle are to blame, but mainly our diet. If you don’t eat well, how do you expect to be fully healthy diet? You can’t! We survive on junk food mostly and skip meals thinking we’re doing alright and nothing could happen but we don’t know what’s going on inside that body of ours, do we? We could wake up one day with a liver problem or a heart complication and by that time it’s a little too late!

So here are a few signs you should look out for that indicates your body is depreciating and your diet isn’t as healthy as you perceive it to be. If you do encounter some of these signs then it’s recommended that go get yourselves checked out, immediately.

Loss of Height

Do you feel you’ve gotten shorter? You remember being 2 inches taller don’t you? Well, your memory isn’t messing with you (at least, that can be reassured). Your bones are degenerating and no this has nothing to do with getting old. You’re losing stature and that’s because your bones aren’t strong enough; thus, you may slouch and end up with a hump back.

Solution: Calcium Rich Foods to Support Bone Health

Well, for starters, you need to increase your required calcium intake. Calcium is necessary for strong bones and you can get that by drinking milk and eating yogurt cheese. Apart from that, you can also provide your body with calcium through collard greens that are rich in calcium.
You may also lack vitamin D in your body, so to boost that, eat shrimp, tuna, sardines and drink lots of orange juice, that should get you right on track!

Persistent Headaches

Do you feel dizzy every time you move around? Or does your headache just shoot up every time you bend over or get up from your bed? Well, that’s because you’re dehydrated, which is mostly caused by processed foods and ready to cook meals! They contain substantial amounts of salts which can dehydrate you.

Paleo Diet Solution

To begin with, drink a lot of water as it is the easiest, most effective way to cover for your dehydration issues. Stay away from these meals and switch to a healthier diet plan, for example, paleo diet which also is rich in vitamins that are likely to keep you energized, throughout the day.

Frequent Illnesses

There’s nothing wrong with falling ill, everyone falls ill and encountering a cold or fever 3-4 times a year is completely normal. However, if you fall sick once every couple of weeks or even days then that is something to be alarmed of. That shows, your immune system is very weak because it doesn’t get all the nutrients and proteins it requires to keep you strong and fight off bacteria and viruses. If you fall ill often you need to change your diet!

Solution: Boosting Immunity with Nutrient Rich Foods

Include foods that are rich in nutrients, such as, fish, bananas, vegetables and fruits. Make it a habit to have fruits, every day, for breakfast and vegetables as a sideline, for every meal! Keep this up and like they say, you shall be as healthy as a horse.

Skin Issues

You are likely to encounter outburst of acne which cannot be cured by any cream in the world. Your skin might be dull and you may also fall victim to hyper pigmentation as a result of unhealthy eating. That’s why it’s essential to have a good diet because the effects are far more beneficial than you could imagine!

Solution: Nourish Your Skin with Vitamin C Rich Foods

This means your skin lacks the vitamin c that makes it glow and looks fabulous. So, incorporate foods that are rich in vitamin c in your daily diet such as strawberries, citrus fruits, and leafy greens. Try to have at least each of one with different meals so you do not get bored of eating the same thing over and over again. Play with your foods and mix it up!
